Episode 402 - N. Butterfly
Japanese Music
Sounds of Japan...
I just returned from a trip to my favourite local library, and I picked up a book on Japanese culture. I want to suggest that when you do your Japanese party at home, you incorporate some Japanese music.

When you make your selections, look for discs, records, or tapes with the following instruments: the fue, which is the traditional Japanese flute; the biwa, which is a mandolin-shaped instrument, the strings of which are plucked by the musician; and a shamason, which is a guitar-shaped instrument, the strings of which are plucked as well. The combined sound of these instruments can be quite beautiful and will make your party special.

Enchanting and relaxing, it's a great thing to play while you prepare for your party. Why not check it out yourself?
