311 - Hoe Down!
Tony Loschiavo of L-Eat Catering showed me how to offer up some down home hospitality with a heap of beans. He shared the secrets of his famous Molasses Beer Bean recipe and I'd like to share them with you!
- 2 cups navy beans
- 1 medium sized white onion
- a few chili peppers
- 1 bottle dark beer
- 2 tbsps molasses
- 1 smoked pork hock
Soak a bowl of navy beans overnight in water.
Heat onions and pork hock together in a medium saucepan.
Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
Continue to heat on the cook top for a couple of hours.
The result: A smoky, sweet, beer-tasting beans extravaganza!
