Uncorking champagne is a slow and methodical process. First, peel off the foil from the top of the cork. Then, carefully untwist and remove the wire underneath. Next step: slowly twist the cork, coaxing it out of the bottle. Allow the gas slowly to escape; never allow the cork to pop free from your hands. You may wish to use a tea towel in case the champers bubbles over. Pour into a glass and enjoy. Service temperature should be very, very cold, about 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
